This witch is flying!

One of the ways I keep myself running is to sign up for a race every few months. After I finished my 10k in October, I realized that race season is pretty much over for the winter in much of Europe.

No matter, I thought. I’ll find something in the southern part of the continent. And so I went off in search of something, thinking France or Spain or maybe even Portugal.

Well it turns out the Canary Islands has pretty awesome mountain biking and a 10k race at the end of January. Sante was down so I signed up. And now we’re finally here!

And we’ve eaten the paella to prove it 🙂

The 10k was awesome. I ran the whole thing, which is always my goal. Maybe once I have a few more races under my belt I’ll work toward improving my times. For now, I’m just stoked to run and finish.

I’ll have more pictures and what not later, but for now I just wanted to share with you something I did the day after. After spending Sunday thanking the Universe for gravity (it makes running a hell of a lot easier), I decided I better defy it a little too 🙂

Now I’ve heard some people say modern-day witches can’t fly, but I disagree.

Yes, it’s a little out of focus, but that’s me Wooohooo-ing up there! I’ll post more photos when we get back to the world with better Internet. For now, I just wanted to show you that with a little imagination and a different perspective, anything is possible … even flying.
