Around the Web with Rebecca — Weekend Edition

by Rebecca A. Watson on August 29, 2015

in habits, life, weekends, writing

I realized recently that I have a load of new posts out on other sites, if you’re looking for more of my writing. I figured I better hook you up with this list on the weekend, so you can sit down with a nice cup of coffee, relax and take your time with it.

weekend reads

  • How to Be Patient … Now — While I’m no saint, (I still have to talk myself into sticking around when there’s a wait at a restaurant), I have noticed there are a few things that really help me when I need to wait, whether it’s for a cashier at the grocery store or some big news from a friend.
  • 6 Tips for Asking for Help — I always say it’s really important to ask for help, but saying it and doing it are two completely different things, as I’m fairly sure most of us know. Following my own advice can be tough.
  • 4 Things Good Listeners Do — Listening is a skill that takes a lifetime to develop. The more you practice, the more enjoyable it becomes. And even when you get good at it, there are always new things to learn.

Other Writing Worth Sharing

  • Sensible Responses to White Nonsense — Remember, white allies, it’s better to call in than call out.   Calling in makes instances of white ignorance and insensitivity teaching moments, instead of eff-you moments.  While eff-you may feel good, calling white people in to being decent and empathic human beings is to everyone’s advantage.
  • What’s Wrong with Me? — I had an autoimmune disease. Then the disease had me.

If you like any of these, please share them with your friends. I am always looking for new readers. If you have any ideas for articles or would like to trade blog posts (yay for guest blogging!) email me.
