Around the Web with Rebecca

by Rebecca A. Watson on January 9, 2016

in feminisim, health, love, weekends, writing

This started as a way for me to share my writing — I often publish on other blogs. But it’s also turned into a place for me to share the best of what I’ve read and seen this week.

I figured I better hook you up with this list on the weekend, so you can sit down with a nice cup of coffee, relax and take your time with it.

  • Looking for Patterns in Your Life — Even the most evolved of us have patterns to acknowledge and deal with. This is part of the human experience — we act from our human experience.

Time Warp

Just discovered my blog, and don’t have time to check out all the old posts? I have been writing this bad boy for more than eight years now, so you’d need some serious downtime and some tolerance for growing pains. I’ve pulled a few of the good ones from this time in past years.

Other Stuff Worth Checking Out

  •  Human Chain in Freiburg — It’s in German, but the sentiment is great: praying for peace in Syria and the rest of the world. I was there and it was an amazing way to spend some of my time over the holiday.
  • Germany, Refugee Nation — “Germany has stepped in. “Wir schaffen das” — we can do this. The can-do spirit has made a trans-Atlantic crossing.” I am so proud of my adopted country.
  • Star Wars Doesn’t Have a Heroine Problem — Why are we so willing to criticize female characters for being a “little too perfect” but so unwilling to call bullshit on how common it is for men to be portrayed the exact same way.

If you like any of these, please share them with your friends. I am always looking for new readers. If you have any ideas for articles or would like to trade blog posts (yay for guest blogging!) email me.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has bought my book so far or shared it with your friends. It means so much to me 🙂 If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s heeeeeeeeere!
